Binge Eating disorder
An eating disorder that is much different from anorexia and bulimia is binge eating disorder or BED. People with binge eating disorder will compulsively eat large amounts of food in short periods of time, even when they are not hungry. They cannot control their eating. Binge eaters often feel embarrassed or disgusted by their eating habits and will binge secretly, when no one is around. Unlike anorexia and bulimia, it is more common in adults than in young people. Many people are affected by BED. About two to five percent of Americans are binge eaters.
